Membership Process

Prospective members must first read the Cadet Policy, fill out and submit the online application, and sign the waiver form (a parent must also sign the waiver). Once those are submitted, the prospective member must attend 3 consecutive meetings. During their third meeting, they will participate in an interview with the Lead Mentor, Associate Mentor, and Cadet Captain. If they successfully pass the interview and background check, they will receive their uniforms at the first meeting of the following month.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Cherokee Cadets. We’re glad to see your enthusiasm and look forward to reviewing your application.

Before reaching out with any questions, please take the time to thoroughly review the information available on our website.

Everything you need to begin — including eligibility requirements, dress code, and application paperwork — is listed under the “Membership” tab.

Part of being a Cadet is learning to take initiative, follow instructions carefully, and solve problems independently. We expect all applicants to demonstrate those qualities from the start.

Once you’ve reviewed the website and completed the required forms, you may reach out if you have a question that is not already answered online.

We appreciate your attention to detail and your interest in law enforcement service.
